Mohammed Babangida, son of former military president Gen. Ibrahim Babangida, has confirmed his acceptance of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s appointment as Chairman of the Bank of Agriculture (BOA), describing reports of his rejection as false and malicious.
In a statement on Monday, Babangida expressed gratitude to President Tinubu for entrusting him with the role, while warning that those behind the fake reports aimed at misleading the public and discrediting the administration would be identified and brought to justice.
“We remain committed to transparency, accountability, and fostering unity in our nation. We urge Nigerians to be vigilant and verify information from credible sources,” the statement read.
Babangida’s appointment is part of a series of strategic leadership changes recently approved by President Tinubu to strengthen key government agencies and institutions.
