A Federal High Court in Abuja has granted N500 million bail each to former Attorney-General of the Federation (AGF) Abubakar Malami, his son Abubakar Abdulaziz Malami, and his wife Bashir Asabe.

Presiding Judge Emeka Nwite ordered that each defendant provide two sureties of equal value, with the sureties required to own landed property in the FCT districts of Asokoro, Maitama, or Gwarimpa.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) had charged the trio with money laundering involving N8.7 billion and linked them to assets valued at N212 billion. All defendants pleaded not guilty to the charges.

The court had previously, on December 30, 2025, remanded the Malami family at Kuje Correctional Centre while their bail applications were pending.
