The senator representing Ondo central in the national assembly, Niyi Adegbonmire, has paid a visit to Rotimi Akeredolu, the state governor in Germany.
Akeredolu has been in the news over the state of his health since he embarked on a 21-day leave on June 7 and was expected to return on July 6.
On July 15, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, Akeredolu’s deputy, took over the running of the state, noting at the time that “Akeredolu will resume duty after being certified fit by doctors”.
The governor’s prolonged stay in Germany has raised concerns over the state of his health.
To allay these fears, Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu, the governor’s wife, shared a photograph of her ailing husband on a motorable chair in a medical facility.
In August, Richard Olatunde, the media aide to the governor, also debunked a viral video suggesting that Akeredolu had returned to Nigeria from his medical vacation.
On Monday, Akeredolu’s wife shared pictures of the governor with Adegbonmire, adding the now-popular hashtag #Aketiiscoming.
“Senator Niyi Adegbonmire in Germany to greet Arakunrin Odunayo Akeredolu,” she wrote on her X page.
