A 28-year-old Nigerian man, identified as Adebayo Maoli, has been arrested in Canada over allegations that he exposed himself to three people in separate incidents on Toronto’s public transit system.

The Toronto Police Service said Maoli, a resident of Toronto, is facing one count of sexual assault and two counts of committing an indecent act.

According to police, the first incident occurred at about 3 p.m. on September 1 aboard a southbound Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) subway train at King Station.

The suspect allegedly exposed himself to two passengers before leaving the train after they activated the security alarm.

In a separate incident on October 3, at about 12:10 a.m., the accused allegedly followed a person who had alighted from a subway train at College Station.

Police said the suspect and the victim subsequently boarded an escalator, where Maoli allegedly exposed himself to the individual.

“The victim verbally confronted the accused, who fled the area,” the police said in a statement.

Maoli was later arrested and charged in connection with the alleged incidents. He was scheduled to appear in bail court on October 9.

The Toronto Police Service said investigators believe there could be other victims and urged anyone with relevant information to contact the police or Crime Stoppers anonymously.

The investigation is ongoing, while the allegations against Maoli remain unproven in court.
