The Yobe State Government has dismissed speculation that Governor Mai Mala Buni is planning to dump the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
In an interview with PUNCH Online on Wednesday in Damaturu, the Director General of Press and Media Affairs to the Governor, Mamman Mohammed, described the report as unfounded and misleading.
“This is nothing but a wild imagination of the author,” Mohammed said. “Similar rumours had surfaced in the past and were promptly debunked. It remains an empty and baseless claim.”
He emphasised that Governor Buni, who is currently serving his second term under the APC, is firmly committed to the party and has no reason to defect.
“Buni is a loyal member of the APC and would be the last person to leave the ruling party,” he added.
Mohammed also urged political speculators to refrain from spreading false narratives, especially about credible leaders like the Yobe governor.
