The Department of State Services has confirmed the dismissal of 115 officers from its ranks as part of ongoing internal reforms in the agency.
The DSS announced this in a statement on X on Tuesday, noting that the affected officials were removed over time. It cautioned members of the public against relating with any of them under the guise of serving officers.
“As part of ongoing reforms in the Department of State Services, the public is hereby informed that a total of 115 personnel have been dismissed over a period,” the statement said.
The service explained that despite previous announcements, some of the dismissed operatives, including Barry Donald and Victor Onyedikachi Godwin, continued to impersonate the organisation and defraud citizens.
The DSS said both individuals had been arrested and would be prosecuted.
“Members of the public are therefore advised to desist from any official dealing with these individuals who have been dismissed by the service,” it warned.
The agency also stated that the names of all affected personnel have been uploaded on its website for public verification.
