President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has directed the Nigerian Armed Forces to deal decisively with all forms of threats to the country’s unity and territorial integrity, vowing that his administration would not tolerate terrorism, banditry, insurgency, or separatism.

Speaking through Vice President Kashim Shettima at the grand finale of the 2025 Nigerian Army Day Celebration (NADCEL) held at Murtala Square in Kaduna, the President reiterated his administration’s total support for the Armed Forces and all security agencies in their mission to secure the nation.

“To the officers and soldiers of the Nigerian Army, I say this with absolute clarity: the time to rise is now,” Tinubu said. “You have my full authorization and the trust of the Nigerian people to confront and defeat those who seek to undermine our nation.”

Describing terrorism, banditry, insurgency, and separatist agitations as existential threats, Tinubu assured the military of comprehensive government support, including modern weaponry, timely intelligence, and enhanced welfare packages.

“These evils do not discriminate,” he said. “They destroy churches and mosques alike, and orphan children regardless of tribe or faith. But under this administration, the welfare and strength of our armed forces remain paramount.”

The President also paid glowing tribute to fallen heroes and personnel wounded in the line of duty, acknowledging their selfless sacrifices for the nation.

“Many of our finest have fallen in the line of duty. Some now lie in silence beneath the soil of a grateful nation, others bear the wounds of duty as living reminders of the price of peace. Their blood will not be shed in vain,” he said.

He also applauded military families for their resilience and sacrifices, particularly commending the Nigerian Army Officers’ Wives Association (NAOWA) and Nigerian Army Soldiers’ Wives Association (NASWA) for their unwavering support on the home front.

“We have no other country but Nigeria. We must not mortgage our future to division, indifference, or delay. Long live the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and long live our Armed Forces,” he declared.
