The governor further directed Briggs to hand over all council properties in his possession to the new CTC chairman of the LGA, Vanguard reported.

At press time the state government has not given reasons for the suspension and quick replacement.

However, some sources in the state claimed that the suspension was allegedly as a result of the failure of the LGA boss to empower residents of his LGA.

The governor has ordered the CTC chairmen and their committee members to initiate an empowerment programme to empower his supporters in all the LGAs.

It was gathered that while other LGA chairmen are keeping to the task that the Akuku-Toru team have not carried out any reported empowerment programme as directed.
