The faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) loyal to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has convened emergency meetings of the party’s Board of Trustees (BoT) and National Executive Committee (NEC) following the dramatic expulsions announced at the party’s national convention in Ibadan.

A notice issued on Monday by the factional National Secretary, Senator Samuel Anyanwu—and circulated on X by Wike’s media aide, Lere Olayinka—said the meetings will hold on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at the NEC Hall of the PDP National Secretariat, Wadata Plaza, Abuja.

The BoT is scheduled to meet at 11:00 a.m., while the NEC session will begin at 2:00 p.m. The notice emphasized that “attendance is very important as crucial matters will be discussed.”

The call for emergency meetings comes after Wike, Anyanwu, former National Legal Adviser Kamaldeen Ajibade, former Ekiti State Governor Ayo Fayose, and Imo PDP Chairman Austin Nwachukwu were expelled for alleged anti-party activities.

The motion for their removal was moved by former Deputy National Chairman (South), Bode George, seconded by Bauchi PDP Chairman Samaila Buga, and adopted through a voice vote supervised by Bauchi State Governor and PDP Governors’ Forum Chair, Bala Mohammed.

The development has intensified internal tension within the PDP, as the Wike-aligned faction positions itself to challenge the decisions made in Ibadan and assert its continued relevance in the party.
