The Nigerian Army has announced the start of applications for the 29/2026 Direct Short Service Commission (DSSC) Course, inviting qualified Nigerians to apply for officer commissioning.
According to a statement shared on the Army’s official X handle on Tuesday, the recruitment exercise is open to both civilians and serving military personnel who possess relevant professional qualifications.
Successful candidates will be commissioned into specialised corps to support the Army’s operational and national security mandates.
The Nigerian Army said the available corps for DSSC candidates include the Engineers, Signals, Medical Corps, Electrical and Mechanical Engineers, and Education Corps.
The statement emphasised that applications are free of charge and must be submitted online. The portal will be open from January 7 to February 4, 2026. Interested applicants were advised to submit their details accurately and early.
