The Muslim World League has denounced what it described as Iran’s ongoing aggression against Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and other countries in the region, warning that the actions undermine regional security and violate international norms.
In a statement issued Tuesday in Makkah, the MWL said the alleged Iranian actions amount to a serious breach of religious teachings, humanitarian principles and bilateral agreements governing relations among neighbouring states.
The organisation’s Secretary-General, Mohammed bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa, was quoted as condemning what he termed “treacherous and indiscriminate aggression” against peaceful countries. He described the reported attacks as acts of terrorism and “corruption on earth,” accusing Iran of disregarding both moral values and international law.
The statement, released by the MWL General Secretariat, followed escalating tensions in the region, including reported strikes on United States military installations. The League said such developments risk widening the conflict and deepening instability across the Middle East.
Al-Issa, who also chairs the Organization of Muslim Scholars, alleged that civilian populations and infrastructure were being deliberately targeted, spreading fear among innocent people during the holy month.
He further praised what he described as the measured and responsible response of Saudi Arabia and other affected Arab states, commending their efforts to protect their territories and citizens while working to prevent further escalation.
The MWL reaffirmed its support for initiatives aimed at safeguarding regional stability and called for adherence to international law and the principles of good neighbourliness.
