The Nigerian Exchange (NGX) has announced the suspension of trading in the shares of Golden Guinea Breweries Plc due to the company’s failure to file its Unaudited Financial Statements for the period ended December 31, 2024.
In a notice to Trading License Holders, the NGX stated that the suspension is in line with Rule 3.1 of its Rules for Filing of Accounts and Treatment of Default Filing (Default Filing Rules). According to the rule, if a listed company fails to submit its financial statements within the regulatory cure period, the Exchange will take the following actions:
Issue a Second Filing Deficiency Notification;
Suspend trading in the company's securities; and
Notify the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the broader market within 24 hours of the suspension.
As a result, trading in the shares of Golden Guinea Breweries has been suspended effective Tuesday, May 6, 2025.
The NGX emphasized that the suspension will remain in place until the company complies with its filing obligations and submits the required financial statements.
