The Dangote Group has refuted a widely circulated social media claim suggesting that the administration of Bola Ahmed Tinubu earns money from every bag of cement sold in Nigeria.

The allegation, which gained traction on Facebook, was falsely attributed to industrialist Aliko Dangote. The post claimed that the Federal Government takes a significant portion of proceeds from cement sales, raising questions about public revenue use.

In response, the Dangote Group on Wednesday dismissed the claim as misleading. The company posted a screenshot of the viral message on its official X (formerly Twitter) account and tagged it “Fake,” offering no further elaboration.

The development highlights growing concerns over the spread of misinformation online, particularly as fabricated quotes and manipulated content-often powered by artificial intelligence-continue to circulate in the public space.
