MTN Nigeria has announced a network disruption affecting some of its subscribers in Lagos, Oyo, Rivers and Delta states, as well as the Federal Capital Territory.

The telecom operator announced the outage in a statement published on its official X account on Thursday, warning that customers in the affected areas could experience temporary difficulties accessing its services.

The company attributed the disruption to network challenges but did not immediately disclose the cause or indicate when normal services would be fully restored.

MTN said its engineers were working to resolve the problem and restore connectivity as soon as possible.

“Our engineers are working to restore services as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience and understanding,” the company stated.

In a separate message directed at affected subscribers, the telecommunications firm apologised for the inconvenience caused by the disruption and reiterated its commitment to resolving the issue.

“Dear Customer, We are aware some of our customers are having challenges using our services. Our engineers are working to restore services as quickly as possible. Thank you for your patience,” MTN said.

The outage comes amid growing reliance on telecommunications services for calls, internet access, financial transactions and other daily activities, potentially inconveniencing subscribers in the affected locations.
