The Dangote Petroleum Refinery has announced a new increase in petrol prices, ending the temporary price relief it introduced during the 2025 festive season.
In a statement on Monday, January 26, 2026, the refinery confirmed that the ex-gantry price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) has been raised from ₦699 to ₦799 per litre. As a result, the retail pump price at all MRS Oil Nigeria Plc stations nationwide has been adjusted to ₦839 per litre.
The ₦100 rise comes after the refinery absorbed higher costs to provide relief to consumers during the December holiday period. The refinery said the price realignment is necessary to ensure the sustainability of domestic refining operations and long-term market stability.
Before the 2025 Christmas season, Aliko Dangote, President of the Dangote Group, announced a reduction in petrol prices to ₦739 per litre nationwide, with the initial implementation at MRS stations in Lagos.
The refinery said the festive period is now over, and prices have been “modestly realigned to sustainable levels to support long-term market stability and affordability.”
“Under the current alignment, the PMS gantry price is ₦799 per litre, while MRS retail outlets are selling at ₦839 per litre,” the statement added.
The refinery also reiterated its commitment to ensuring uninterrupted supply and stability in the domestic petrol market.
