NNPC Gas & Power Investment Services (NGPIS), a subsidiary of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited, has been awarded the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System certification, a milestone expected to enhance its operational efficiency and strengthen its competitiveness in the energy sector.
The certification, granted by the British Standards Institution (BSI), recognises the company's adherence to internationally accepted quality management standards and its commitment to continuous improvement, customer satisfaction and sustainable business performance.
The ISO certificate was formally presented to the Executive Vice President, Gas, Power and New Energy at NNPC Limited, Mr Olalekan Ogunleye, by a delegation from NGPIS led by the company's Head of Planning and Commercial, Mr Ayuba Rabo, during a ceremony at the NNPC Towers in Abuja.
According to NGPIS, the certification followed an extensive implementation process that commenced in December 2024 and involved the development of a comprehensive quality management framework, process standardisation, and rigorous internal and external audits.
The company said the exercise was coordinated by its Quality Management System team under the leadership of Mr Okeoghene Esugo, whose efforts were instrumental to the successful certification.
NGPIS noted that attaining the ISO 9001:2015 standard aligns its operations with global best practices, enabling it to improve service delivery, enhance operational efficiency and consistently meet customer expectations.
The company added that the certification reinforces its ambition to compete more effectively in the international energy industry while supporting the strategic objectives of NNPC Limited.
It said the recognition demonstrates its commitment to building a culture of quality, innovation and continuous improvement as it expands its role in Nigeria's gas and power value chain.
