Orimoloye joins Access Bank as executive director, risk management

Access Bank Plc has appointed Ifedayo Olaniyi Orimoloye as Executive Director, Risk Management, as the bank strengthens its risk governance structure amid its continued expansion.

The appointment, which was disclosed by Access Holdings Plc, became effective on September 21, 2026, following approval by the Central Bank of Nigeria.

Orimoloye has more than 25 years of experience spanning risk management and financial services in Africa, Europe and the United States.

He joins Access Bank from the African Development Bank, where he served as Group Chief Risk Officer and oversaw a risk portfolio of more than $40bn.

During his tenure at the development finance institution, he contributed to the strengthening of its risk management framework and supported the maintenance of its AAA credit ratings from Moody’s Investors Service, S&P Global Ratings and Fitch Ratings.

His expertise covers enterprise risk management, capital optimisation, credit governance, regulatory compliance and strategic transformation.

Earlier in his career, Orimoloye held senior risk management roles at Sterling Bank Plc, Ecobank Transnational Incorporated, Wells Fargo Bank, HSBC and Citigroup.

He has also participated in capital and securitisation transactions, including initiatives focused on expanding renewable energy access across Africa.

Orimoloye holds bachelor’s degrees in Economics and Finance and an MBA in Finance from California State University, Hayward.

Commenting on the appointment, Group Chairman of Access Holdings, Aigboje Aig-Imoukhuede, said Orimoloye would bring extensive international risk management experience to the bank.

“Mr. Orimoloye brings strong global risk management experience and strategic leadership to the Board of Access Bank Plc,” Aig-Imoukhuede said.

Access Holdings said the appointment underscored its commitment to strong corporate governance, prudent risk management and sustainable value creation as the group expands its operations.
