The Nigerian stock market posted strong gains on Tuesday, with the All-Share Index (ASI) rising by 1.56% to close at 108,361.10 points, up from the previous 106,698.50 points.
This bullish performance translated into a N1.045 trillion increase in market capitalisation, which grew from N67.06 trillion to N68.105 trillion.
Market activity remained robust, with a total of 475 million shares exchanged in 17,575 deals, amounting to a total turnover of N13.9 billion.

Investor sentiment was largely positive, as 42 stocks recorded gains compared to 25 decliners.
Top Gainers
Ecobank Transnational Incorporated (ETI), Nestle Nigeria, and Northern Nigeria Flour Mills (NNFM) led the day’s gainers, each appreciating by 10% to close at N25.85, N1,210.00, and N82.50 respectively.
Other notable gainers included Beta Glass (+9.98%), Austin Laz & Company (+9.94%), and Academy Press (+9.76%).
Top Losers
Guinea Insurance topped the losers’ chart, declining by 8.70% to close at N0.63 from N0.69.
DAAR Communications and VFD Group also suffered losses, falling by 6.78% and 6.59% respectively.
Volume Drivers
ACCESSCORP led in trading volume with 104 million shares exchanged in 967 deals, worth approximately N2.2 billion.
GTCO followed with 38 million shares traded in 608 deals, valued at N2.4 billion, while UBA moved 31 million shares in 1,004 transactions, worth around N1 billion.
The overall positive market performance reflects continued investor interest and strong momentum in key financial and industrial stocks.
