The Nigerian stock market on Monday closed on a positive note, driven by price appreciation in 54 stocks on the green table.
The All Share Index rose by 0.22% to close at 101,356.15 points from the previous close of 101,129.09 points.
The Market Capitalisation appreciated by 0.23% to close at N61.441 trillion from the previous close of N61.303 trillion, thereby gaining N138 billion.
An aggregate of 503 million units of shares were traded in 12,490 deals, valued at N16.23 billion.
The Market Breadth closed positive as 54 equities appreciated in their share prices against 20 equities that declined in their share prices.
Percentage Gainers
Living Trust Insurance, International Breweries, MANSARD, MRS, Sterling Bank, Champion Breweries and Okomu led other gainers with 10.00% growth each.
Honeywell Flour and Sunu Assurance among other gainers also grew their share prices by 9.92% and 9.88% respectively.
Percentage Losers
AUSTINLAZ led other price decliners as it shed 9.84% of its share price to close at N1.65 from the previous close of N1.83.
ARADEL and OANDO among other price decliners also shed their share prices by 9.64% and 8.63% respectively.
Volume Drivers
GTCO traded about 39 million units of its shares in 345 deals, valued at about N2.3 billion.
JAPAULGOLD traded about 26 million units of its shares in 167 deals, valued at N78 million.
Zenith Bank traded about 35 million units of its shares in 500 deals, valued at about N1.6 billion.
