Etihad Airways has extended the suspension of its flights to Riyadh and Dammam in Saudi Arabia until November 5 following a wave of attacks attributed to Yemen’s Houthi rebels.

The United Arab Emirates’ national airline announced the extension on Thursday, citing “operational disruptions” affecting services to and from the two Saudi cities.

Etihad first suspended flights to Riyadh on October 12, two days after a deadly attack on a passenger terminal claimed 13 lives.

The latest disruption followed an attack on Dammam airport on Wednesday evening, which left two people dead and eight others injured.

Dammam airport reopened on Thursday, but the airport in Riyadh remained closed, according to the report.

The airline also announced restrictions on flights to Jeddah, saying it would maintain daytime operations while cancelling night flights until November 5.

The extended suspension comes as Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabia’s civilian infrastructure, including airports and oil facilities, have intensified in recent weeks.

The attacks represent an unprecedented escalation in strikes on Saudi civilian targets since the conflict in Yemen began in 2014, further disrupting regional aviation and raising security concerns.
