Central Securities Clearing System Plc (CSCS), Nigeria’s foremost capital market infrastructure, has announced the launch of its Custodian Portal, a cutting-edge digital solution aimed at improving operational efficiency and providing seamless access for custodians.
The Custodian Portal is built as a user-centric platform that simplifies processes for market participants. It offers a range of features, including comprehensive portfolio and trade management, document tracking, share transfer operations, client symbol search, and real-time access to critical data.
The portal operates on a flexible subscription model, with convenient and secure payment channels such as GTPay and Paystack.
Haruna Jalo-Waziri, Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of CSCS Plc, emphasized the strategic importance of the portal during the launch:
“Digital transformation remains central to our vision of improving efficiency, transparency, and accessibility in Nigeria’s capital markets. The Custodian Portal is a major step forward, providing custodians with a centralized platform to handle critical processes in real-time.”
He added: “We are excited about the value this innovation will bring to our stakeholders. Our commitment is to continue enhancing the platform to meet evolving user needs and industry trends.”
Designed to prioritize user experience, the portal’s features include portfolio viewing with the ability to download in PDF or Excel format, tracking of stock movements over custom date ranges, inbox messaging, request tracking, and a comprehensive user management module for role assignment and status monitoring.
Tobe Nnadozie, Divisional Head, Business Technology and Digital Innovation at CSCS Plc, highlighted the broader strategy behind the new platform:
“The Custodian Portal is part of CSCS’s wider push to automate the market. Beyond its regular features, it forms a component of an omnichannel platform for custodians, which also includes API services. It connects to the market-wide workflow CSCS has built to guarantee secure communication and approvals across all major stakeholders. The platform is protected by best-in-class cybersecurity technologies and our dedicated Security Operations Center (SOC).”
By introducing the Custodian Portal, CSCS reinforces its commitment to leveraging digital technology to modernize back-office operations and foster a more agile, data-driven capital market ecosystem.
All custodians in Nigeria’s capital market have been successfully onboarded on the platform. This milestone underscores CSCS’s continued efforts to drive collaboration, standardize processes, and promote digital adoption across the industry.
