Nigeria’s inflation rate fell to 14.63 per cent in September 2026 from 15.39 per cent in August, the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) has said.
The bureau announced the latest figures in its Consumer Price Index report released on Thursday, indicating a moderation in the rate of increase in consumer prices during the month.
The decline marks a 0.76 percentage-point reduction in the headline inflation rate compared with the previous month.
However, the latest figures reflect a slowdown in inflation rather than an outright fall in the general price level, meaning consumers may still face high prices for goods and services.
