ARISE News has announced that political analyst Anthony Kila will no longer appear on its platforms following allegations questioning the authenticity of his academic credentials.
The television station disclosed this in a statement issued by its Editorial Board on Tuesday, saying the decision followed an investigation by Premium Times into Kila’s claimed academic qualifications and use of a professorial title.
The report reportedly identified discrepancies in his claimed bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees, as well as his professorial status.
ARISE News said it had contacted Kila on October 3, 2026, to obtain his response to the allegations but that he requested additional time to address the issues raised.
The broadcaster, however, said he had not responded 10 days after the allegations were presented to him.
“Following claims that Anthony Kila falsified his entire academic credentials, we contacted Mr Kila on 03 October, 2026 with the allegations. He asked for more time to respond to the claims. He has not responded 10 days after,” the statement said.
The network said it had reviewed the findings of the Premium Times investigation and decided to remove Kila from its programmes, citing the seriousness of the allegations.
According to ARISE News, the decision means the analyst will no longer feature on any of its platforms, either immediately or in the future.
The broadcaster also clarified that it had no knowledge of the allegations when Kila previously appeared on its programmes in his capacity as a freelance political analyst.
“ARISE News was unaware of these allegations at the time Anthony Kila appeared on our platform and as we take matters of credibility and integrity extremely seriously,” the statement added.
The development follows growing scrutiny of Kila’s academic background after the Premium Times investigation questioned the qualifications associated with his public profile.
ARISE News said its decision was informed by its commitment to credibility and integrity in its programming.
However, the allegations against Kila have not, based on the information contained in the broadcaster’s statement, been established as a finding of guilt. His response to the claims was not included in the statement.
