Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has appointed Professor Badejo Olawumi as the Vice-Chancellor of Lagos State University (LASU).
The appointment was announced on Wednesday by the state Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Gbenga Omotoso.
Olawumi takes over from Professor Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, whose five-year tenure expires with her retirement from office.
A professor of Guidance and Counselling, Olawumi was born on August 4, 1962.
Omotoso said the new vice-chancellor earned her Doctor of Philosophy degree in Guidance and Counselling from the University of Lagos, where she also obtained a Master of Education degree in the discipline.
Her appointment forms part of the transition at the university following the completion of Olatunji-Bello’s tenure.
