Police in Lagos State has declared one Benjamin Nnanyereugo wanted for the death of his girlfriend identified as Augusta Osedion.
In a statement on Tuesday by Lagos State Police spokesman, Benjamin Hundeyin, Nnanyereugo was suspected to have murdered the 21-year-old lady on July 13, 2023, in his home at Oral Estate in the Ajah area of the state.
Hundeyin noted that the suspect was declared wanted after efforts to arrest him were unsuccessful.
The statement read in part, “Following the exhaustion of all available options to bring him in, he is declared wanted.
“The suspect is 26 years old, approximately 5’9 ft tall and hails from Abia State. He is dark in complexion and speaks English, Igbo and pidgin English fluently.
“If seen, please contact the nearest police station or call 0803 688 5727.”
Meawhile, Hundeyin said operatives of the Rapid Response Squad have arrested three suspected fraudsters in the Idumota area of the state while holding an uncooperative victim hostage.
The victim, a 23-year-old lady (name withheld), heading to Iyana Oworo from Gerard Road Ikoyi, boarded the suspects’ Volkswagen Vento Salon car with number plate BDG 513 EJ but was forcibly taken to Idumota.
The three suspects, Austin Okoro aged 47, ring leader, Godwin Asezour aged 54 and Susan Elohor aged 42, while on the diversion, attempted to swindle their victim by introducing her to their alleged money-doubling business.
The victim, however, sighted an RRS patrol team at Idumota and successfully raised the alarm to their hearing, which led to the prompt arrest of the suspects.
The suspects have since been charged to court following the completion of the investigation by the CSP Olayinka Egbeyemi-led RRS.
