Gunmen demand N15m for abducted students, farmer in Ondo

Criminals who abducted a farmer and three students of the Federal College of Agriculture, Akure (FECA), Ondo State, over the weekend, have demanded N15 million for their release.

The victims said to be Industrial Training (IT) students on a farm, were kidnapped on Saturday evening while returning from the farm, not far from Akure Airport.

The kidnappers also made away with  a farmer and a labourer around the farm situated in Oke Oge, Akure North Local Council Area of Ondo State, a few kilometres from Akure Airport. The victims were abducted while returning from the farm.

Reports have it that the kidnappers have contacted one of the victims’ families, demanding a N15 million ransom.

A source said  the victims were kidnapped by the gunmen on Saturday evening while returning from the farm.

While confirming the incident, the Commander of Amotekun in the state, Adetunji Adeleye, stated that his men had been deployed to rescue the victims.

He said, “I can confirm to you that we are on top of the situation. They were kidnapped while returning from the farm.

“Our men have been deployed to rescue them from the kidnappers’ den.”
