Actress and filmmaker Eniola Ajao has debunked widespread speculation linking her to the 2024 arrest of popular cross-dresser Bobrisky, stating emphatically that she had no role in the incident.

Speaking in a recent interview on Oyinmomo TV via YouTube, Ajao explained that Bobrisky’s arrest stemmed from alleged financial misconduct and had nothing to do with any personal rift or fallout between them.

She clarified that awarding Bobrisky the “Best Dressed Female” title during the premiere of her movie last year was purely a promotional strategy, not a provocation. While the move sparked backlash from some of her colleagues in the film industry, she insisted that her intentions were misunderstood.

“I gave the best-dressed female award to Bobrisky to promote my movie. I didn’t expect the kind of negative reaction it got from some colleagues. It made me sad, and I had to explain myself to many of them,” Ajao said.

The actress emphasized that she shares a good relationship with Bobrisky and has remained supportive, especially during his legal troubles. She revealed that she continued to visit him while many others distanced themselves.

“I wasn’t behind Bobrisky’s arrest—he knows why he was arrested. I have always been a good friend to him, and I stood by him when others turned their backs,” she added.

It will be recalled that Bobrisky was arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in 2024 for alleged currency mutilation and abuse of the Naira.
