Don Jazzy Gifts Woman ₦6m After Seeing ₦67 Account Balance

The internet was set abuzz on Thursday as Nigerian music mogul Don Jazzy and fast-rising star Shallipopi surprised fans with spontaneous cash giveaways running into millions of naira.

Don Jazzy, real name Michael Collins Ajereh, made headlines after he gifted a woman, Adeyemi Adejoke Abidemi, a total of ₦6 million following her response to a viral X.com challenge that urged users to tag a celebrity they wished would send them ₦1 million.

Adeyemi, who tweets as #PopoolaJoke4, tagged Don Jazzy with a playful message: “Make I tag #DONJAZZY. I dey always dream about him. Happy new month sir.” The Mavin Records boss responded, asking for her account number. Minutes later, she shared a screenshot showing a ₦1 million credit alert from him.

Overwhelmed with joy, she expressed gratitude, writing, “Jesuuuuuusssssssss, this is huge. Thank you so much for your incredible generosity. Receiving ₦1 million is beyond anything I expected.”

But the surprises didn’t end there. After noticing that her previous account balance stood at just ₦67.29, Don Jazzy added another ₦5 million, commenting, “That your akant balance is not healthy. I don add another 5 million. More blessings ma.”

Adeyemi confirmed the second transfer with a fresh screenshot displaying a ₦6 million balance. She wrote in gratitude: “May the Almighty who used you to lift me reward you beyond measure. May your hands never lack and your generations enjoy divine favour.”

In response to critics questioning her low bank balance, she clarified, “None of my accounts get 1 naira, I can screenshot all for you. Only GTBank get 67 naira.”

Meanwhile, Shallipopi, also known as Crown Uzama, joined the trend by giving out ₦1 million each to two of his fans while promoting his new album.

He tweeted: “Summer is coming, ready your shorts and bikinis. Don’t forget to take a lil speaker with you in case you wanna jam da Album.”

One fan, Samuel Uchechukwu Ifesinachi (@teslime_dmw), replied, “Summer is coming, still broke as hell. Money to buy speaker no dey.” Shallipopi responded, “Imma send u a million if you promise to get yourself a very big JBL.” The fan obliged, and Shallipopi later posted proof of the ₦1 million transfer.

Another fan, Anirah Gabriel (@gabe_the_menace), reminded the artist of a past exchange where Shallipopi had asked how much he could “chop.” Gabriel replied anew: “Make I see 1 meter from u preside jare,” prompting the singer to send another ₦1 million.

The gesture by both artists sparked widespread admiration online, with fans praising them for using their platforms to uplift others in difficult times.
