Newly re-elected President of the Performing Musicians Association of Nigeria PMAN has formally launched the reconstituted Federal capital territory, Abuja chapter of the association.
The occasion, which also signalled a new era of progress and opportunity for members in the region was well attended by members and the general public.
Pretty Okafor, speaking, highlighted the significance of proactive commitment among members, stressing the need for dedication to advance the music industry.
He also underscored the assurance that registered members would gain exclusive right to the Afrobeat Music Festival slated for Atlanta, USA, next year.
According to Mr. Okafor, membership is the gateway opportunity. He, therefore, called on all musicians to register and join PMAN to leverage on the numerous benefits available exclusively for members.
He also noted that the association had achieved a lot with the acquisition of the PMAN House, provision of radio equipments for Lagos and Abuja as well as the successful partnerships with international organizations, which will enable members to participate in concerts abroad.
For the newly inaugurated Abuja governor of PMAN, Sparrow Sydney, he expressed gratitude for the inauguration and pledged to align the Abuja Chapter with the guiding principles of the constitution.
The event sure signalled a pivotal moment for Abuja music scene, signalling a collaborative effort to elevate local industry and empower musicians to move on.
It is yet to be ascertained if the current moves and rebranding by the Pretty administration will unite Nigerian musicians forthwith.
There are still pockets of members under different leadership.
