'Birthday 'boy' and 'Available' crooner, who's still receiving heartwarming messages from all and sundry and from all nooks and crannies of the world, has sent a message for Nigerian budding musicians: be diligent, creative and original.
"Always endeavor to research properly and try to be original and offer music that is original. This is the way to success. Most young people are in a haste to be known; they rush to do something whether it is good or not and expect success."
Davido, who is still celebrating the arrival of his twin babies with wife in far away U.S; his birthday and current album Available, said Nigerian artistes must learn the trick if they want to exceed our boundaries.
"That was why I returned from America to discover myself musically and now go there as a true artiste."
"I used to live in America. I could have stayed and just do what everybody else was doing. My calling was to go back home [Nigeria] and represent the culture [Afrobeats] and eventually, it still brought me back out here America. But everybody else has their own path.
"The most important thing is be original.”
Davido noted that the uniqueness of the sound he came to Nigeria to develop eventually took him back to the United States as a superstar.
He urged up-and-coming artists to always make sure they stand out creatively.
