Nigeria's latest famous couple on the marriage 'slaughter slab', Israel and Sheila Courage, have been called upon to reconcile and continue to live together as husband and wife.
The couple, who joined the list of crashed marriages have been hurling 'missiles' at each other since the news of their break-up broke last weekend.
But many Nigerians are pained by the development and pray that it is controlled before it escalates.
First was an evangelist of God, a mother and social commentator, Mrs. Susan Sylvanus, who said that the couple should reconcile their differences and seek God's guidance.
"It is very unfortunate that many marriages are collapsing these days. The social scene appears to be the worst hit, well it's for obvious reasons. But I want to call on the couple to have a rethink, forget their differences and come together once again. God will reunite them and they will be stronger in the relationship.
"Marriage is not actually a bed of roses, it takes process and perseverance. They are just one year into the union and needed more time to understand each other well."
Another respondent, Babajide Thomas, stated that it is not the best for a couple to wash their dirty linings in public.
"This couple only knew each other, got together and married last October, just one year. I have been in marriage for 25 years and counting! So, there's nothing that cannot be settled, they should burry their differences."
Sheila, the wife, seems not to be comfortable with the husband's disposition as an aide to the musician, Davido, but seems not to know how to say or advise him.
"I think the major cause of their differences is the nature of the husband's briefs as an artiste manager. It's a job that keeps one away all the time, especially if it's a man of Davido's standing.
"That's why, according to reports, she harped very much on his source of livelihood. Maybe she's been thinking of how long he will continue to do the job. Another is loneliness, he's not at home all the time and that may even account for why the union is yet to be blessed with a baby..."
The couple got married in an elaborate wedding in Benin last October and looked as one to show good example in the marital world. But people say they are disappointed with what is happening, especially the way they're already washing their dirty linings publicly
"This is another minus for the showbiz industry, which is already rated as the worst sector with the highest marriage breakups," added Damian Ochu, an entertainment journalist.
However, the accusations and counter accusations have continued, especially in the social media, dousing every hope of immediate reconciliation.
