The recent cyberspace debate on Yemi Alade, unmistakably one of Nigeria, nay, Africa's talented singers with a focus, lacks substance, after all.

Some critics had written her off, saying that she's no longer in contention for the big music market.

But this was completely wrong and came from people, who are not current with her achievements which have been massive.

Firstly, the fact that she's focused and has a pattern of music (with African vibes) cannot be overemphasized.

For a singer who went on a playing tour of over 40 countries around the world, got Grammy nomination and just recently, partook in the production of the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) theme song, she's done creditably well.

In fact the AFCON project speaks volume and she summed it this way.

She co-produced the song for next year's AFCON, 'Akwaba', which means WELCOME, in Ivory Coast, And as she told NAN, she did it alongside the host country's Magic System and Egyptian's Mohammed Ramadan.

"It's an honour to represent my country because it will help to encourage a healthy competition."

She described same as a dream come true for her, "to have contributed in the making of the official anthem for next year's AFCON."

According to her, Africans all over the world will be watching their favourite countries there.

Yemi Alade, who got nominated for the Grammy, said that the year has been a great one for her.

"It has been a year of surprises, the AFCON project, Grammy and touring over 40 countries on my Euro/USA and 'African Badie' with my mom by my side."

Now, who thinks Yemi Alade is 'depreciating' musically?

As for the incoming 2024, she simply said, "I can't wait to unveil more surprises."
