Consummate show impressero, Ali Baba, has revealed the much kept secret about his life and career, insisting that his choice of Theater Art as course of study in the university was not a mistake. He said that his father went to the extent of inviting his uncle to come and intervene.
"When my uncle came and he told him I had settled to study comedy, and he said that means I had found another father, stressing that I can't be part of the family and if won't read law...
"He handed me over to my dad and made to leave but, sensing danger, I craftily followed him and bolted from there to avoid my father's beating. Infact for good 10 years, he didn't want to talk to me..."
That is the reason, he said, he had tried to be at his best in his comedy and of course achieved a lot to success from it.
He made this known in the Christmas Day podcast and disclosed that his father, a 'book worm' who got his Ph.d at 86, wanted him to study law.
"When I told him that I was home (from school) to tell him something, he first asked if I had been rusticated. Then I told him that I wanted to study comedy and he was jolted."
He first asked, "comedy, like what,?". The handwriting was very visible on the wall that I scampered for safety but was determined to be a successful comedian.
