Faith Ekwebenam, representing Anambra State, has emerged winner of the Miss International Nigeria 2025 pageant.
The grand finale, held on Sunday, saw Ekwebenam defeat other contestants to clinch the national crown.
With this victory, she will represent Nigeria at the 63rd Miss International pageant, scheduled for November 27, 2025, at the Yoyogi National Gymnasium in Shibuya, Tokyo, Japan.
At the end of the highly competitive contest, Miss Lagos was named first runner-up, while Miss Bauchi, Miss Edo, Miss Cross River, and Miss Nasarawa finished as second to fifth runners-up.
Ekwebenam’s win continues Nigeria’s steady participation in Miss International, following the footsteps of Perpetual Ukadike, who flew the country’s flag at the 2024 edition of the global event.
The Miss International pageant, considered one of the world’s “Big Four” beauty contests, places emphasis not only on beauty but also on cultural exchange and advocacy.
Ekwebenam will now embark on advocacy projects that celebrate Nigeria’s heritage while promoting goodwill on the global stage.
In a twist that cemented Anambra’s position in the pageant spotlight, Onyinyechi Basil, also representing the state, was crowned Miss Universe Nigeria 2025 in a separate competition held in Lagos.
Basil emerged winner after an intense finale that left her and Miss Lagos, Damilola Bolarinde, as the last two standing before being announced as the overall winner by the organisers.
Other finalists included Miss Bayelsa, Fortune Kurobo, who finished as second runner-up, and Miss Ogun, Irene Ikediashi, who came third runner-up.
The double triumph means Anambra now holds both crowns of Nigeria’s leading international beauty franchises, a feat hailed by industry watchers as unprecedented.
With both Ekwebenam and Basil preparing for international competitions later this year, pageant enthusiasts say all eyes will be on Nigeria’s performance at Miss International in Japan and Miss Universe later in the year
