EURO 2024: Mudryk scores first international goal

Mykhailo Mudyrk put in a performance of real quality as Ukraine came from behind to beat Malta in a crunch Euro 2024 qualifier.

The Chelsea winger helped Ukraine win 3-1 in Attard, earning a penalty for his side - which Artem Dovbyk converted - before netting a goal for himself late on.

Mudryk started as a left forward for his nation but it was the hosts Malta who opened the scoring, surprisingly going in front after just 12 minutes.

However, when Mudryk is in full flow it’s hard to stop him and after applying the pressure, the visitors drew level as Ryan Camenzuli put through his own net.

Mudryk capped off his fine display by sealing an important three points by netting Ukraine’s third in the 3-1 win.

Mudryk international team mate Oleksandr Zinchenko has a message for Mykhailo Mudryk after his goal for Ukraine:

"I told him, 'If you do or attempt to do that on Saturday, I'll rip your balls off."

Chelsea will face Arsenal in the league this weekend, so it seems Zinchenko is 'playfully' asking Mudryk not to score against the Gunners when they meet.
