Qatari billionaire withdraws from Man Utd takeover

Qatari Billionaire Sheikh Jassim Bin Hamad Al Thani has decided to withdraw from the race to purchase Manchester United from the Glazers family.

This decision comes after the Glazers removed Manchester United from the market last month, recognizing that neither Sheikh Jassim nor British billionaire Sir Jim Ratcliffe would meet their £10 billion valuation.

Earlier this year, Sheikh Jassim made a £5 billion offer for a complete takeover of Manchester United, which was subsequently rejected.

Meanwhile, Sir Jim Ratcliffe, a petrochemicals billionaire, had contemplated purchasing a minority stake in the club. Despite the Glazers’ lofty valuation, both Sheikh Jassim and Sir Jim Ratcliffe had remained interested in the acquisition. However, Sheikh Jassim has now opted to withdraw from the race.
